With biomass appliances we mean units on either wood logs or pellets. Biomass is according to the EU a renewable energy and fits into the energy transition plans of the European Union. In many countries the use of biomass appliances is stimulated with government support.
The products of our members play an important role on the European market. The product portfolio is enormous. There are pellet stoves and inset appliances, wood burning stoves and insets and specialised products such as appliances that also heat water or units that have heat storage options.
Together with Bioenergy Europe we have a special working group called -domestic heating-. In this working group we have many projects such as research on emissions, European certification for appliances, we collect market data, etc.
